"Hello MTC Parents and Athletes! My name is Jackson Allen, and I am extremely excited to serve as a distance coach for the Manhattan Track Club this season. I am a K-State Junior studying Secondary Education, with plans of becoming a High School Teacher and Coach after graduation. Though this may be my first true coaching role, I feel I’ve maximed my experience to be prepared to do a great job this season. I ran Varsity Cross Country and Track at Blue Valley High School in Overland Park, KS, and have since began competing in the Marathon, qualifying for Boston in the Summer of 2019. I am a USATF Level I Certified Coach, and have completed the Sports Performance & Coaching Certificate here at Kansas State. I have also worked at Manhattan Running Company during my past two years here at K-State, so I have been blessed to work with many experienced distance runners who have mentored me and can serve as trusted advisors. I have been very fortunate to have had an amazing experience competing in Track & Field, and have grown as both an athlete and a person as a result of it. I am passionate about giving back to the sport, and hope to provide the same experience for my MTC athletes this season! I can't wait to get started!"
