At the end of each season, the Manhattan Track Club pays tribute to one of its great athletes with the Shelby Jackson Memorial Track Scholarship.

Shelby Jackson was the type of athlete that any coach would hope to have on their team. Aside from his natural athletic ability and pleasant nature, Shelby's work/practice ethics exemplified what every athlete should strive to achieve.

The untimely death of Shelby leaves us all with heavy hearts, while at the same time reminding us how very precious the lives of our children are. We will always remember Shelby and are proud to offer a track scholarship in his memory.

The Manhattan Track Club coaches and Board will select an athlete at the end of the season, that has proven worthy of this scholarship based on their character, work ethic and success. The chosen athlete will be announced at the picnic closing out our season.
